Bye, Steve
Thanks Steve, I knew I could count on you for a positive comment. However, in your comment, you do hit on one of the key, but nasty, kde4 problems affecting users as they are moved to kde4. What's that?? "Those have not been even ported to KDE4 :-)" There are still key apps that are not even kde4 ready. Quanta is a biggie. Unfortunately, the developer (Eric Laffoon) feels a complete re-write is required to do that and it is in work. But, the timeline for completion is anyone's guess and the resources required greatly exceed what is available. I cannot imagine a kde4 without quanta and I cannot imagine life without basket-notepads. As long as kde3 runtime will continue to provide the necessary functionality and as long as openSuSE will continue to provide the needed packages as a bandaid until kde4 has the apps that kde3 did, then that will continue to be a workable solution. -- David C.
