Not sure if this is only on my system (though I have seen the same problem in other screenshots of openSUSE on the web as well); but the fonts display in openSUSE are irregular. This font 'bleed' is there only in openSUSE, as I also have Ubuntu 9.04 also installed on the same system, and the fonts are clear (without any sort of distortion) in Ubuntu. Fonts in Ubuntu 9.04: [1] (same webpage in both images) Fonts in openSUSE : [2] Both above images are from the GNOME desktop, which I use as the default for both Linux versions. The font/ display settings ([3] & [4]) are also same for both Linux installs. Hardware details are as follows (nVidia Driver is same for both the installs): - Monitor: LG L177WSB @ native res of 1440 X 900 - Gfx Card: nVidia GeForce 8500GT 512 MB - Driver: nVidia 185.18.31 Any suggestions how I can improve display in openSUSE 11.1 ? Thanks, Jay PS: To render comparability between the images, I suggest viewing them at the same zoom; View > Normal or select 'Normal' from the main toolbar in 'Eye of GNOME', that should give the default zoom of 100%.
