Hi list,

- broke my bank access. Sigh..

- I was on 1.6.0_update15 which I downloaded from SUN a few weeks ago.
This worked fine.

This is the output of update-alternatives:

update-alternatives --config java

There are 3 alternatives which provide `java'.

Selection Alternative
-----------------------------------------------
+ 1 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk/bin/java
2 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.5.0-gcj/bin/java
* 3 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-sun/bin/java

None of these works with my bank.
Now...how can i revert to the JRE that I had installed just yesterday?
If you deinstall (rpm -e ) java-1_6_0-openjdk it will probably pick Sun Java
again
and start working.

Ciao, Marcus

Hi list and Marcus,

- thanks A LOT for your kind help!
- I'm not clean yet...

This is the output form update-alternatives:

There are 2 alternatives which provide `java'.

Selection Alternative
-----------------------------------------------
1 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.5.0-gcj/bin/java
*+ 2 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-sun/bin/java

This is the output from rpm -qa | grep -i java:

java-1_6_0-sun-plugin-1.6.0.u15-0.1.1
timezone-java-2009d-0.1.1
java-1_5_0-gcj-compat-1.5.0.0-56.61
java-1_6_0-sun-1.6.0.u15-0.1.1

This is the output from rpm -qa | grep -i jre:

jre-1.6.0_10-fcs

I just (before your answer) pulled this java from SUN:

jre-6u10-linux-i586.rpm

That's one I positively know is working with the bank.
I installed it with rpm -Uvh and so forth, didn't use any other flags.
Before that I uninstalled two javas with:

rpm -e java-1_6_0-openjdk-plugin
rpm -e java-1_6_0-openjdk

FF crashes when logging into the bank.

As I see it, there is a discrepency between the java (u15) and the jre
(u10). I don't understand the '-fcs' that's on the jre name at the end?

Again...al help is highly appreciated.

BTW: LOTS and LOTS of danish openSuSE users will have this problem
tomorrow morning/lateste monday morning...
I'll write a howto/hints when I'm clear and post it in our LUG, Google
will find it.

oh...sorry forgot to mention...when I fire up FF and goto java.com, it
says I got the most recent version (version 6 u15). Eh...no I don't, but
FF thinks so or what??
