The URL given earlier is MUCH better because it installs a current release (11.1) of SuSE upgraded with KDE4.3 and will be much easier and safer to install than an 'alpha/beta' version.
Milestone 6, which is what you will get from the /developer site *might* work on many machines but it *won't* work without significant bugs on *any* machine that I know of. Knowledgable people used to "tinkering" with their systems in more than a few cases, have gotten the 'M' series of releases for 11.2 to work relatively reliably, but there are a lot of things not yet set up for general use for the average user....much less a 'newbie'.
Just my $.02 worth...
Cheers, and good luck....
OK. Have deleted that download. Will try the binner download instead. When I have the live CD can I then go on to install a full system? Does it set up the repos I need eg for Yast? I believe there is an icon on the Desktop called install. Must get a test box going here or sacrifice a box on the lan. Thanks again. downloading the binner CD now L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
