I just got a call from one of my friends (whom I consulted earlier on this matter) saying:
"Remember also to fix /etc/alternatives/javaplugin." This symlink should also point in the right direction. My javaplugin symlink was pointing to some IcedTea, it now points to the SUN java directory. And everything is now working.
Q: If it had only been written somewhere...CHECK YOUR SYMLINKS IN /etc/alternatives/!
I hope my answer gets picked up by the search engines in order to help others :-)
Well, you are shot-gunning and that is "not good". There is an app for setting java, update-alternatives, and *much* has been written. Have you search on opensuse.org? You remind me of a friend who is getting along in years, even more than me. If something on his windoz machine doesn't start as quickly as he thinks it should, he clicks on it six or seven more times, and then cannot understand the problems that ensue. But he is only 89 :^). -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
