Listmates, How do you turn off the annoying file upload confirmations in konqueror that prompt you to confirm it is OK to upload a file -- for example after you press "submit" while adding an attachment to bugs.kde.org? Also how do I turn off that other very annoying prompt to paste text into an email in kmail to prevent the "Add as Text" or "Add as Attachment" prompt. These things are more annoying than the Windows Vista UAC prompts, but at least I could turn that off. This is on openSuSE 11.0 with KDE 4.3-0.1 I have been through the settings and help and can't find anything on the konqueror upload annoyance except a reference to a java setting: Use security manager is normally enabled by default. This setting will cause the JVM to run with a Security Manager in place. This will keep applets from being able to read and write to your file system, creating arbitrary sockets, and other actions which could be used to compromise your system. Disable this option at your own risk. You can modify your $HOME/.java.policy file with the Java™ policytool utility to give code downloaded from certain sites more permissions. But that is not what controls the confirmation. I've also looked at the suggested java policy: /usr/lib64/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0/jre/bin/policytool /usr/lib64/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0/bin/policytool /usr/lib64/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0/jre/bin/policytool but disabling the entire setting makes no difference. What's the trick? Here is a screenshot of the annoying konqueror confirmation: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/konqueror... AARGH!! And also that annoying confirmation that prevents you from pasting into a kmail message (this one for example) without being prompted to insert the text as text or as an attachment? I just tried to paste the above URL and got hit by that one.... That annoying screenshot is: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/kmail-pas...
