If I install a second version on a spare partition then my mbr is set to the fresh installed grub.
Is there an option in the install procedure "DON"T touch the MBR" ?
Yes, tell yast to not touch the mbr and install grub on the root partition (or /boot) of your new install. Then, on the old install, you chain load the new grub - for example: title Test D: Factory root (hd0,7) configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst You can also add on the main grub entries to boot the second linux; just remember that Yast will not automatically updated those when the kernel is updated. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
