I installed 11.1 on a Medion PC with nVidia GT8600, with a Samsung T220HD monitor connected via a hdmi cable. The problem I have is that even at 1680*1050, the font size is so big that I am not able to see anything easily. Have a look at http://lh4.ggpht.com/_hb_9Y3mg5lc/SmytfhnpduI/AAAAAAAAAg8/Ehv4szQKxsA/s800/s... will show you what I see. I have tried everything.
Without seeing your list of what constitutes "everything", not likely you actually have. There are numerous ways for fonts to get all out of proportion.
Is it because I am linking the PC to the monitor using a HDMA cable
So, you've already tried substituting a standard 15 pin cable and found identical results? It's obvious to me the DPI is wrong for your display resolution. You should upload your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log file somewhere and post links to them here for would-be helpers to examine. In the meantime maybe something on http://fm.no-ip.com/auth/Font/fonts-linux-about.html would be helpful, likely setting a DisplaySize and/or PreferredMode in xorg.conf. If using the proprietary binary NVidia driver, you might be best off to start by trying: Option "UseEdidDpi" "false" Option "DPI" "96 x 96" in xorg.conf. -- No Jesus - No peace , Know Jesus - Know Peace Team OS/2 ** Reg.
