In the Yast Host Configuration module, I have the following entries
127.0.0.1 127.0.0.2 barrowhillfarm barrowhillfarm ::1 localhost ipv6-localhost ipv6-loopback ...
This would explain why my use of the 'localhost' alias failed to point to 127.0.0.1 :( When I try to edit the 127.0.0.1 entry I get a warning that it's a system host, and do I really want to change it?
Is it OK to add the hostname 'localhost' to 127.0.0.1, and what is ::1?
Thanks,
Bob
It should be OK to add localhost to 127.0.0.1 as every system I've worked on has that. "::1" is your IPv6 localhost address. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
