BTW, I've worked in telecom for much of the past 37 years and I have run many systems, over copper & fibre. Incidentally, most of the phone system runs over fibre.
James, if I were to go out tomorrow and get myself a fibre connection, I would assume it to be for IP-traffic only - it's certainly not available just for telephone traffic :-). Apart from VoIP-devices, I have no idea how I would go about hooking up e.g. my DECT base station. What is the typical CPE equipment required for a hookup with fibre on the "last mile"?
