Does KDE write any log files?
If you had a KDE compiled with debug enabled, you could use kdebugdialog to enable the debug messages. However, on my system, there are some KDE error messages in ~/.xsession-errors already.
I'd like to look after my plasma reset problem. For those, who didn't read it before. 1. Run kde4.2 2. Fill up /home 3. Delete files to create space on /home
Just to make sure, the files you deleted were not still in use. That is, "df" actually showed the space?
4. Everything OK, continue the work in session 5. Restart KDE, or the whole system 6. Every plasma setings are lost.
Where could I dig deeper? [...]
