I pull my email to my ISP email and another email account to the same Imap server, but in thunderbird, I'd like to use the imap to be able to send out via either my isp outgoing and local outgoing.
Sending is done via smtp servers, not imap. You can configure as many smtp servers as you like in thunderbird. The trick is to associate an smtp server to each pop/imap account or identity.
