I am trying for ages now to get friendly with Linux. I need to be able to use English, German and Japanese. The latest Japanese version is 10.3 (if you go to the download site for OpenSUSE 11.1 and select Japanese, you get 10.3)
I"m not quite sure where you've gone, but the openSUSE ISOs are available here: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/iso/ for instance: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/iso/openSUSE-11.1-DVD-i586.is...
Installation of Japanese 10.3 did not really work, so I tried (again and again) the English version, which does not work either: I get millions of error messages.
Can you give us some examples of those, please?
I tried just hitting enter key input: root, guest, admin etc. The black screen tells me "have a lot of fun". This is no fun ......
That is the default message-of-the-day in openSUSE, so you've obviously managed to get something installed. I think it would be good if you told exactly what you've downloaded, what you did with it (burnt a DVD?) and what happened when you started installation. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.1°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
