So, it is a good practice to keep the disks at a relatively low
temperature.
not so sure. T° have to be optimal, sometimes too low temp can make
lubricant unhappy
You have a point there. But please note that I said "at a relatively low temperature", the key point here being *relatively*. Not "very low", not "freezing".
