I'm configuring a new server using opensuse 11.1. I "bonded" two NIC's to have one interface, bond0. I have another NIC, to go to the Internet-router. I wanted to set up CUPS to use the bond0-interface to broadcast it's printers, but Yast only knows about the "raw" NIC's.
In the "Share Printers" dialog, you can "Add" any interface name you like - just enter whatever string you like (e.g. "foo") and check the "Publish ... via interface ..." check box. Then it will appear in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf as -------------------------------------------------------------------- Listen *:631 Listen localhost:631 Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock . . . Browsing On ... BrowseAddress @IF(foo) . . . <Location /> ... Allow @IF(foo) ... </Location> . . . # 2009-05-20,11:27:52 modify_cupsd_conf Allow @IF(foo) # 2009-05-20,11:27:52 modify_cupsd_conf BrowseAddress @IF(foo) # 2009-05-20,11:27:53 modify_cupsd_conf Browsing On # 2009-05-20,11:27:53 modify_cupsd_conf Listen all -------------------------------------------------------------------- See http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.3/ref-cupsd-conf.html for further information what those entries mean.
