This in not a Maple specific problem. It is a java and cups related
problem that affects other applications as matlab. You had to modify
the /etc/cups/client.conf file, by adding the line
ServerName=localhost. Alternatively you could set the variable
CUPS_SERVER to localhost. Other problems may occur when printing: you
see the printer but you get errors after sending the print command. In
this case you had to modify the file /etc/cups/printers.conf by adding
for each printer the line "Option orientation-requested 3" before the
line </Printer>

Hi Dave, I use it regularly. It works without any problem. I am running Maple 12 on openSuSE 11.1. I also used it on earlier openSuSE distributions. Francesco

Thanks.
I have been unable to Print anything in Maple until today.
I fixed the Maple print problem ("No print service") by replacing the level 5 JRE embedded in Maple with the level 6u13 version available from Sun. Print is still slow, but it works. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
