I was about to say the very same thing, but it's not correct. If you
run 'yast', you get the ncurses interface, if you run YaST2 you get
the GUI (assuming DISPLAY is set). I've just tried it on an 11.1
system.

What I wrote is true, and I tested all the invocations I gave.


What I wanted to say was - running 'yast', you get the ncurses interface
regardless of the DISPLAY setting, with YaST2 you get the GUI when
DISPLAY is set, but it defaults to 'yast' when there is no DISPLAY.
