No, it's not - copying all of .kde[4] on one computer to the other will import
your mail and addresses,

Yes, it is. I insist. :-)

You can simply copy over a mail folder from, say, mozilla, to, say, kmail, any version, and it will work: it will read the email (both directions), because both programs understand the mbox format roughly the same.

However, configuration data from, say, mozilla, can not be moved directly, to, say, kmail.

That is what I said.

There is a more or less standard for mailbox (mbox) (1), but there is not for configuration, addresses, or indexes. Unfortunately.


(Proof of (1) is that I share the exact same physical folders between
Alpine, Kmail, Thunderbird, and Mozilla (and formerly, Balsa, before
its demise). Indexes can not be shared, though).
