Right, but the "average user" won't be building his own packages anyway. The average user should just be running an online update to get the qt packages, nothing else
From, the 'System' section of Yast -> Software Management', (filter by 'Package Group'), I get the Qt version as 3.3.8b-95.1-i586 (installed). When I check the Qt version in KDE 4.2.1, it gives it as Qt 4.5. This KDE 4.2.1 + Qt 4.5 has been for the most part stable on my desktop PC.
For me too, but it's not officially supported, so there could be issues with it.
