Because apart from dissecting the acronym - which in today's terms with many varieties of R.A.I.D's, is no longer meaningful, I can create a single volume from many partitions from many physical disks. What I have not been able to do is create a RAID redundancy of the boot+/ drive using different physical disk partitions and get the thing to boot! ;-) alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au wrote:
Sorry - I create the Mirrored during Installation selecting the 1 physical drive as boot+root and its mirror on a different physical drive partition , however when I boot the PC from HDD after Install the PC does not boot anything - I not sure if this is an error in writing the boot-loader or I have stuffed up the Mirror
Sorry Per - OOP!

I have not yet been able to Mirror my Boot+Root partitions despite formatting with the correct format and creating a mirror RAID - Is there anything special in creating a RAID (mirror) of the boot+root partitions of a HDD.
Nope. When you say you've "not yet been able to Mirror", what exactly do you mean? Coz' later on you say you have formatted and created a RAID device.
Is there something I have possible not done to correctly boot from a (RAID) Redundant boot+root drive on different physical media.
Boot loader config?
P.S Hate the new Partitioner in 11.1 - I saw nothing wrong with its form in 11.0,
Yeah, same here. It took me a while to find "reread partion maps" in the new one.
