You write that as if OpenSuse is the only Linux distribution.
Wake up and smell the coffee, it's not!
It is only second or third to Ubuntu.

I don't want to say that it's better or worse, but if things go the wrong
way with OpenSuse, the intended audience is more likely to switch to
Ubuntu, Debian or Fedora than to Windows.
