So... I'm fighting with my stupid ATI card (I really hate ATI vid cards) on my multimedia computer. Setup: Onboard ATI 1250 in a Asus P2 bookshelf computer, MythTV 0.21 from the repos (not the MythTV svn version), openSUSE 11.0, the latest ATI Catalyst driver from 20 Feb, 2009 To start MythTV, I have to export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=true (otherwise the computer locks up solid after launching mythfrontend.... this is a known problem with using ATI garbage instead of a real video card. To launch the mythfrontend I have to force ThemePainter=qt or the menu transitions are so sloooooow that you fall asleep between each menu move. OK, so I have a running MythTV, and for the most part it works well. The last problem surfaces in the DVD player. If I put a DVD in the drive and start it playing, it appears to start as normal... press 'm' to jump to the DVD menu, and this is where the problems start: - animated menus never clean up, and they rapidly become an unreadable mess as the animations are painted, but never unpainted as the animation progresses - all sub-menus are invisible (eg language selection, subtitle selection, chapter selection etc) So.. has anyone managed to get MythTV working right on the openSUSE repo version (0.21) with an ATI card? Any tips or suggestions for getting the DVD sub menus to show up? C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
