That must be a OpenSuse+KDE4.* issue, because I don't have that
experience with Ubuntu+KDE4 or Gentoo+KDE4.
Anyway, I can't imagine why KDE4.* would be responsible for a slow
_boot_. Logon perhaps, but boot???
