Is it possible to replace the X from 11.1 with the X from 11.0?

Why do you want to do this?

My network uses 6 year old Dell computers with Intel graphics.

Then, either use 11.1 with the entire X and more recompiled from the 11.0 sources, or use 11.0 with everything you need from 11.1 recompiled from source.

I wouldn't like being in your shoes. I'd stick to 11.0, yes or yes. If 11.0 is not an option, then the option is the previous answer, ie, 11.0, like it or not. >:-)
