: Just a note that I have now seen twice. The other day I updated my Qt with what is in KDE:/Qt, which was is Qt4.5 rc1. On logging out and back in, i noticed the CPU was pegged and the temp was climbing. I tried an old fix, to log back out and clean out the files in my .kde4 tmp, cache, and socket folders. On logging back in, all was well again. I just "downgraded" to the Qt offered by online update repo. Again, on logging out and back in, cpu was pegged and the temp was climbing (I believe the app was kded4). Logging back out and cleaning out the temp files again fixed the problem. Just a heads up for others. :-)
File that at bugs.kde.org now!
There was a recent discussion regarding the fitness of Qt 4.5 for KDE 4.2 and after much confusion, the conclusion was that Qt 4.5 RC in general works, but there may be unexpected gotchas due to lack of testing, and kludges in KDE 4.2 to work around Qt 4.4 bugs that are not necessary (and possibly danerous) in Qt 4.5.
Don't forget to include hardware specs. Thanks.
