And saying it is "plain wrong" is also wrong :-P It depends on your mail program interpretation of "reply to all". Some may not include the sender.
Unless someone can name an email app that prohibits its user from editing, typing in or pasting in the email address he wishes it sent to, you're wrong to say he's wrong.
