I googled and found one thing that told me to killall -KILL xine but that doesn't work.
I have an issue where something - in this case a .flv file downloaded from YouTube - kills Konqueror and thus my sound. So far the only resolution is to reboot.
Any other ideas?
I'm on KDE 3.5x with openSUSE 10.3.
I've read Randall's response to you so I am only adding (I hope! :-) ) a small extra info to the above. As you would recall, in Linux (?oS) the extension of the file is really not important as the file type is recognised by the some indicator INSIDE the file; meaning that the flv file can be played on amarok, kaffeine, etc. If the flv extension is causing you some problem then either get rid of it or alter it to some other extension.
