I installed OS11.1 KDE 4.1 yesterday and since then I have not been able to get the desktop to work in a manner I expect it to. The problem is that the desktop size (vertically) is more than the actual screen size. As a result I can not see the complete desktop. If I move the mouse pointer to the top edge of the screen, the taskbar slides down past the bottom edge of the screen and on moving the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen, the application's title bar moves past the top edge of the screen. Is it the normal behaviour or is it a new "feature"?
It sounds like you're just seeing typical desktop panning.. the resolution defined is larger than what the screen can display... eg, the display can handle 1680x1050, but 1600x1200 is defined. Check with YAST > Hardware >Graphics Card to make sure the card is set up correctly. nVida drivers come with the handy nvidia-settings app where you can adjust screen panning... don't knoe what ATI and others have... or you can edit the xorg.conf file directly to clean it up (the hard way) C -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
