$ mount /media/cdrom $ cd /media/cdrom/path/to/packages/depending/on/your/arch (i386 or x86_64) $ rpm -Uvh package.rpm
Mads!. I cannot se any media nor in /media nor in /mnt. Can you help me here ?
First do:
$ ls /media
The /media has no content.
And paste it here. Maybe also the contents of /etc/fstab
etc/fstab: /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_WDC_WD800JB-00J_WD-WCAM9M475425-part1 swap swap defaults 0 0 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_WDC_WD800JB-00J_WD-WCAM9M475425-part2 / ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 1 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_WDC_WD800JB-00J_WD-WCAM9M475425-part3 /home ext3 acl,user_xattr 1 2 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 sysfs /sys sysfs noauto 0 0 debugfs /sys/kernel/debug debugfs noauto 0 0 usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs noauto 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0 fdisk -l: Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000cd12b Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 1 262 2104483+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda2 * 263 2873 20972857+ 83 Linux /dev/sda3 2874 9729 55070820 83 Linux
Another possibility is to do:
$ mkdir /tmp/dvd-mount-point $ mount /dev/cdrom /tmp/dvd-mount-point
And then repeat the above with /media/cdrom changed to /tmp/dvd-mount-point.
What you write above gives me access to the DVD media ? At least I have access to my 11.0 DVD media now Could I ask you to show me the "repeat" part ?. Why is it necessary to do the repeat for the cdrom ? I wonder why I have the Error 15: File not found Before the culprit has been found there's no chance to boot normal. What say Mads. I can also wait for the 11.1, as I can access this HDD, and copy the /home to the new HDD I'll use for 11.1 -- Med venlig hilsen / Best regards Erik Jakobsen eja@urbakken.dk Registered Linux user #114875 - http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
