While I totally agree with  you -- support the site and support the
authors. Sometimes articles get taken offline and it is nice to have
an archive somewhere (there will be plenty of archives of this mailing
lists on sites indexed by search engines). But to be honest, I have no
idea what Linux Journal's policy is for keeping archived old articles.

Local news sites seem to be the worst, sometimes pulling articles after a month.
