Default in /etc/X11/xorg.conf is "off". Change it to "on" and have a god time.
Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "off" EndSection
That's all there is to it?!
I'll try it out and let you know.
(But if there is all to this, then why isn't this part of the KDE4.x configuration 'instructions'?
I am starting to believe the observation by one of its developers that (paraphrased) KDE4 doesn't need users for it to work properly.)
Ciao.
Basil,
For a real treat with compiz on 11.1 Beta 5, run ksnapshot after you have compiz enabled, then quit ksnapshot.
(ps have a terminal open fairly large, so you can type "kwin --replace &" in the blind after the excitement!
