It is a common word in Spanish. Teachs me that languages are different, 
I should not assume that similar words are similarly used on both 
languages. There is no such thing as being really bilingual. Sigh...

Anyway, the definition above is not entirely correct, or is not what I 
meant.

The one from the wiktionary is closer:

] (intransitive) To evade, to equivocate using subterfuge; to deliberately 
] obfuscate.

We use it to mean taking what some one says out of context and changing 
the meaning around, deliberately.
