In KDE 4.2, kmail will automatically split emails into "Today", "Yesterday", 
"Last Week" and so on

And for Diego, in 4.2 kmail can compose HTML email by going to Options and 
selecting "Formatting (HTML)". Just please don't use it for mailing lists
