Yes you have to configure the TV-out to get it to work. Right now X doesn't have a clue as to what you'd like to do with it. (Assuming this is the same with Radeon as it is with Nvidea) Start Yast, enter root pw. Go to Hardware Go to Graphics card and monitor. Click "Activate Dual head mode" Click the Configure button that has just become available There you can select Cloned Multihead (assuming that is what you want)

It's a start, but in the "second monitor" selections there is nothing I can find that resembles NTSC television. :-(

I tried with the default 1024x768 VESA, and something gets out to the recorder, but its a mess. It looks like a bunch of miniature B&W screens, maybe 4-6 of them, out of sync. My 1080P TV only lets that through a few seconds before blanking the screen.
