Hi, is there a difference in the functionality of: zypper up -t package -t patch
and using software management module in Yast/Packages/All packages/update if newer version is available?
For what I see, they behave differently. What is the correct CLI zypper command to get the same behavior?
Cheers
Sunny, I think simply 'zypper up -t package' is the equivalent of yast -> s/w management -> packages -> all packages -> update if newer available. I believe the '-t package' and the 'all packages -> update if newer available' will update all packages to newer packages _without_ limiting the update to patches. I'm not sure what the result of having two '-t' options on the cli would be. Possibly, the second -t, the '-t patch' is overriding the first '-t package' in the way you are doing it. -- David C.
