I use openSuSE, and like GNOME, Many packages in the official released DVD I dunnt need(Like KDE3.5 AND KDE 4, they r too big for the small DVD), and I have to add some special Drivers or software(some r in the official repo and some not). Burn a custom DVD is possible (Not easy for a beginner like me). But can it be a choice as official service ? Or can it be reached with jigdo or someth. else ?
I really don't understand what you want. As you mention, you can already buy a DVD. In addition, some magazines include a DVD. But you seem to want a DVD with less on it??? If you don't want something, don't install it. How is someone else supposed to know what to take out off the DVD and why would they bother?
Its clear enough :-) He would like somethings out, and put somethings else in. Mee to! And he asks whether this would be possible directly from the download page, via "jigdo". If you don't know what it is, read on: A typical application of Jigdo is with its jigdo-file utility. A user that wishes to assemble a disk image downloads a relatively very small file called imagename.jigdo. The jigdo-file utility invoked with this file as an argument then proceeds to fetch additional files from the Internet: imagename.template and a series of .deb files that are listed in the .jigdo file. It then uses the mkisofs utility to build the ISO image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jigdo I find that insteresting. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
