And in runlevel 3?
I can boot into the command line and issue commands... but trying to start SaX2 starts X and goes back to the garbled screen.
Ok, ok, that's something. You just have to tell sax to ignore the previous settings and start fresh; "sax2 --help" will tell you te options. Posibilites: [ -l | --lowres ] use only 800x600@60 Hz standard mode. DDC detection is switched off in this case [ -V | --vesa ] This option will set a given resolution and vertical sync value (in Hz) as VESA standard resolution for a specific card. Format: Card:XxY@VSync Example: 0:1024x768@85 [ -s | --sysconfig ] this option tell SaX2 to import the system wide config file even if SaX2 was started from a textconsole which normaly will import the SaX2 HW detection data [ -r | --reinit ] remove detection database and re-init the hardware database If you cant's see anything, type ctrl-alt-backspace (perhaps twice) to kill it. Or jump to the text console where sax2 is still running (ctrl-alt-f1, for instance) and issue ctrl-c to kill it. Once sax2 runs and you can view it, play with the selections till you find one that works. Lets hope :-) After you succeed, test it running "startx" from the console, and if it works, exit and type "init 5" to return to full graphics mode. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
