I need help with buying an external HD. I bought an Iomega eGo external 160 GB USB hard drive but it is not recognized by my os 11.0 linux only box. I thought it would work like my USB flash drives. Searching the web I found nothing about drivers but on Hardware4Linux I found that all Western Digital cards work on linux. TigerDirect has a Western Digital Firewire/USB2.0 combo about the same size.
Does anyone have a recommendation on this or any other external HD?

I don't recall the details, but there are some external drives that are optimized for Windows and cause problems for Linux. It's best to stay away from those. The safest bet is to buy separate drives and cases. That way you'll avoid this nonsense. -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
