That "spawning session" thing usually happens if the vboxdrv kernel module is not loaded. Check with lsmod and try to load with rcvboxdrv start which probably tells you that the kernel module doesn't fit. Then you can try to recompile it by using "rcvboxdrv setup". That did it. It runs just fine as 'root' now. Still doesnt work running under my username, but this will at least work for now until a fixed version makes it into the repos.

There is nothing to fix except permissions on some of the files that changed since you ran it as root.
