Sounds to me like you may have to run the 32-bit version of Firefox for this plugin to work.
I do, but I do not believe that the plugin is the problem, it is acroread. :^( I have not changed or updated anything on the system in the last week to ten days and acroread and the firefox plugin worked during that time.
