sort of progress... it hung at "Setting Up Windows", but never gave
the screen suggesting I hit <ENTER> to proceed with the installation.
Going back to CTRL-ALT-F7, I found:
$ sudo /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom cd.iso -hda win64-xp.img -boot d
-m 512
Could not open '/dev/kqemu' - QEMU acceleration layer not activated: No
such file or directory
^C
Next idea?
Thanks for helping with this. Much appreciated.
Ok, did that. No luck.
OK, I think, that probably it might be a BIOS bug.
Qemu Userspace works, but KVM (kernel acceleration) does not. I know
for sure that XP-64 works for me, which bring me to the conclusion
above.
Try to update BIOS.
