But you do know that Picasa finds images regardless of where they are
stored? Anywhere on your hard disk if you want, or only specific
directories if you set it up that way.

You don't have to move your images out of Digikam (which, by the way
is not a PLACE that you store images, its an application that accesses
images that are stored on the disk, just like Picasa).

Further, Picasa allows you to edit images, crop rotate, adjust color, lighting
etc, but NEVER touches the original image, and therefore it will not get
in a fight with Digikam.

All the Picasa changes are un-doable, it keeps a list of adjustments
needed in a file.
 When you are happy with the changes and want to upload it, it uploads
(or exports) a new image incorporating all the changes.   Your
original remains untouched.

I have 5 or 6 image programs, some I paid for.  But the quickest and most
obvious to use is Picasa.  Nothing is better for straightening images taken
at a slight slant.

Really, try it.  It makes Digikam look clunky.
