Does zypper really need to access the configured repositories just to remove
an application, zypper rm? The reason I am asking is because my cable modem
at my house kind of died and without knowing that zypper wouldn't even be able
to remove a package without accessing the internet I bet you can guess the
kind of shock I was in when zypper spit out the first error because it wasn't
able to access a repo. If zypper does not need to refresh the repos just to
remove a package can this be done in future versions to help save bandwidth of
both the users and the servers, also make zypper rm usable without an active
internet connection, I know that rpm -e works without internet connection,
then again rpm doesn't even work with the repos as far as I know.
Thanks for the time
