I'm always thinking: How about the man pages as PDF files ?
This way the PDF files could have links to references, diagrams, websites, etc.
Concerns: size comparison, maybe others

Interesting idea... man pages usually deal with cli commands and tools (as does GNU info), and there are very few diagrams in them. As they are normally produced by the developers or maintainers of those commands and tools I think one of the key issues here would be the attitude of those people to the idea. I have never been inclined to look into this in any depth but I believe there are already some GUI based man page readers which may have the capability to establish any man page, web or email support links. So I am not sure of the practical benefits would be for what could be a lot of work with the possibility one may be re-inventing the wheel.... What might be of more value is a tool that uses the man page as a template to construct a gui control (teaching tool?) to go through the process of constructing the relevant cli command. Man pages have (normally) a fairly common structure. and it is therefore theoretically doable, but worthwhile ? hmm again I am not sure... - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
