Hi,
I just my hands on an Acer AspireOne. I've installed openSUSE 11.0 on it. All work well expect the
wireless card. I've installed wifi ( its an Atheros card AR242x witch uses the ath5k kernel module ). The card appears as wlan0 and wmaster0. I try to connect it with NetworkManager but no luck it does not connect. Bellow is the NetworkManager log:
What I would suggest (my lappy uses the ar2* chip) is to use the ath_pci driver as opposed to the ath5k. The madwifi repo can be added to your install sources, or you can do what I did and dl the source and then compile and install the module yourself, recompiling and re-installing with each kernel update. ;)
I followed your advice. Thanks :)
Does anyone has any experience one this laptop or wireless card ?
Mine has not been too good with the ath5k driver, but I know from having had 10.3 on the same lappy that the ath_pci driver works for me.
