The system knows about your monitor. Problem is that sax2 (YaST) is reading current xorg.conf with old monitor entries. That is what Fred mentioned, to use custom settings and enter: Max. Resolution: 1680x1050 Vert. Sync Range: 48-76 Hz Hor. Sync Range: 24-83 kHz Bandwidth: 146 MHz Size: 473x296 mm I must be looking in the wrong place b/c i do not see anywhere to to make a custom install. I go into yast->hardware->graphics card and monitor. Then click on change for the monitor and in the resulting box i do not see where to make custom except to enter display size and sync frequencies.
Or, to make backup of /etc/X11/xorg.conf and run init 3 sax2 -r from text mode (Ctrl-Alt-F1). Don't forget to save you current work in GUI, as after 'init 3' current work is gone. If you have nvidia or ati than sax2 line should have ' -m 0=nvidia' or ' -m 0=fglrx' added after '-r' parameter. I have nvidia geforce 8400
Maybe the easiest way is to edit xorg.conf. Removing most of the lines from Monitor and Modes sections, leaving only Identifier strings should work, but it is easier to do that, than to explain, if you post it :-) Here are the parts of xorg.conf: Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 340 270 HorizSync 30-60 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "MULTISYNC LCD1525X" Option "PreferredMode" "1680x1050" VendorName "NEC" VertRefresh 56-75 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection

If you plan to buy new card today than you can leave all this until you have all connected. Bought a new card and installed it and got it working, i believe. Even setup both monitors. Just want to get the right monitors now in sax. Thanks for your help.
