we are using nfs to export the home dirs of the users. The clients use automount to mount them. If i work on the console everything works fine, but if I open the Firefox FileOpenDialog it freezes. This is caused by firefox trying to get /home/.hidden or /home/.directory. On the server I get this error:
rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from XXXXXXXXXXX:1000 for /home/.directory rpc.mountd: can't stat exported dir /home/.directory: No such file or directory
On the client:
As a workaround I created the /home/.hidden and /home/.directory dirs, but this could not be a real solution!! Any idea how to solve the problem?
regards ulrich I think you need to explain how the users are automounting the files and how you are exporting the files. I alos export the entire home directory on my machine, /export/home1.
we do not use fstab to mount the home dirs. We use the automounter: * -soft,intr server:/home/& I did some research and it seems to be a gvfsd problem. If I kill the daemon firefox stops asking for strange dirs in /home. The only problem is I can't start a kde app. The problem seem to be in the interaction of kde and gvfsd. Any idea what could cause the problem? regards Ulrich -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
