Hi list,

- what happened to YaST's printer conf module?
- normally you could ADD a new PPD file to the pool of PPD files - and
hence define/create a printer to use it.

I can't find that option anywhere...

Me neither. I used the web interface for cups (http://localhost:631) to
add my printer with the custom ppd file. The installation was quite
straight forward.

Hi

Vauwww. wait...how did you manage to use the CUPS web interface. See my
posting from earlier today...Don't you need to be a CUPS admin to do
that? I.e., use something like "lppasswd -a -g sys root" and so forth..

I used the cups approach on openSUSE 10.3 and 11.0, and on both systems the
root access to cups worked right out of the box. I vaguely remember that I
had to do some "lppasswd magic" on my first linux system. But that was SUSE
9.3 or 10.0.
