I plugged in a usb passport drive, formatted it to ext3 to use to copy come files off to carry to another server. Now when I reboot the machine that I formatted the drive on it want boot. I get error message saying that one of the mount points want mount, hence its the usb drive. What can I do to fix this. I have plugged the drive back in but it still want boot. I need to format another drive also an do not want to have this same problem again in the future.
Edit the fstab entry, add the option "noauto". Ensure the line ends with two zeros. Better if you mount by label. Or remove line (comment it out). More info: review the archive, this question has been asked before this year. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
