Did the solution of adding the following to your .bashrc? What version are you on as when I tried it on 10.2 the cmd for 'man shopt' did not give me the option to histappend?
Hello: Yes I made the change but I haven't tested if it works. I am on openSUSE 10.3. This is a bash builtin command: ~> man -k shopt shopt (1) [bashbuiltins] - bash built-in commands, see bash(1) zshoptions (1) - zsh options It should work on every version that runs bash.
